The next seminar in the Competitive Edge series of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce will take place on June 19 from 11:45 am – 1:30 pm. The seminar entitled “Can a resume show you a person’s true colors?” will cost $35 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members.

The seminar will be led by HR specialists Jon Duke and Henry Gonzales. Those who attend will learn about the personality identification tool “True Colors”, which teaches how to choose employees who are the best fit for an organization. It is important not only to fit the skills for a job but an employee must also fit into the corporate culture. Hiring the right employees will get the best performance and will ensure that the person also keeps the job for a longer time.

This will be a great networking opportunity for Tampa business experts. By arranging for a business card printing order in advance, attendees will have enough business cards to give to everyone they meet. The networking can be to increase the referral network of the individual but can also be a chance for them to make use of what they have learned and solicit new employees to their business.

Employers want to find the right employee for their company and they want that person to stick around. Replacing the wrong employee is much harder than hiring the right one in the first place, which is cheaper and much less time consuming. Employees also want to be sure that the company they work for is the best fit for them in terms of advancing in their careers.
