The 5th annual Hurricane Expo will by held at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) on June 2nd from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. This is a free event presented by the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County. Those who attend the Expo can tour MOSI for a discounted charge of $8.

The Hurricane Expo will help to educate and inform the public on how to prepare for any type of emergency whether it be hurricanes, tornadoes, or other summer weather extremities. The event is family-oriented and will feature lots of fun activities for children and adults. Children are given free admission to MOSI’s Astronaut Training Adventure. There will be exhibits such as what emergency supplies are needed to survive for 72 hours after a disaster and meteorologists will be on hand to answer any questions that the public may have.

In addition to non-profit agencies and organizations, suppliers of disaster necessities and services will also be on hand. Vendors can rent tables for $300 for a business, $50 for a non-profit organization and free for government agencies. The fee includes a table and chairs which will be set up outdoors and vendors are encouraged to bring their own tent. There are also sponsorships available from $1,000 to $3,000 and all sponsors will receive name recognition at the event, as well as being mentioned in the program book given to everyone at the door. Tampa banner printing companies will most likely be providing the banners which those sponsors at the highest level are allowed to display at the event.
