Fashionable fundraiser set for Tampa area

The first ever Art en Blanc gala will soon get underway and is a fundraiser on behalf of the Temple Terrace Arts Council, and is based on a Parisian dinner event that began over a quarter-century ago.

Attendees are asked to dress all in white (or khaki if they prefer), and meet their friends for an al fresco meal. The dinner will be held in Woodmont Park and is an adult event featuring music, dancing, food, and fun. For this particular dinner, the wearing of hats at the table is encouraged.

Attendees are also asked to provide their own food and liquor or wine, and BYOB is encouraged. For those who would rather not cook or pack a meal, local restaurants are getting together to provide Art en Blanc pre-packaged, pre-paid dinners for reasonable prices. The Council is providing chairs, tables, and linens—white of course.

Since the event is outdoors, organizers might consider working with a banner printing expert to create a decorative and inviting banner to install at the venue. This will publicize the dinner, as well as helping people find their way to the gala.

It will be held May 17, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, in Temple Terrace, about 10 minutes from Tampa. Tables seat eight and cost $160, but individual tickets are on sale for $25. Music will be provided by the Dennis Pupello Jazz Ensemble, with proceeds going to benefit the Temple Terrace Art Council’s art programs.
