Enjoy New Year’s Eve in Tampa

December 20, 2011 by

There are three events taking place in Tampa this New Year’s Eve; so why stay at home when you can have some fun?

The first is a family-friendly event that is tied to the Outback Bowl and is partly a pep rally for the college football game that will be played on January 2. The Outback Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade and Band Blast will take place from 5:30-9 pm on East 7th Avenue. The parade will feature floats, cheerleaders and over 20 marching bands.

Light Up Tampa Bay is a midnight fireworks display and ball drop on the waterfront. There will be live entertainment and you can watch the fireworks from any of the local restaurants and clubs. The area will not doubt be decorated for New Year’s Eve, maybe with a sign, a poster or a banner. Printing banners and hanging them over doors, around light poles or on the front of buildings, helps to add to the festive air.

Aqua Eve will take place at the Florida Aquarium from 9 pm-1 am. Tickets cost $100 and it is an over 21 event. There will be international food to sample, a cash bar, live music and offers a great view of the fireworks display. A limited number of people can buy an additional $60 ticket and take a boat cruise to get an even closer view of the fireworks.

Whichever event you choose, you are sure to have a great time and will welcome in the New Year in style.
