The 9th Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Races and the 2012 Asia Fest will take place at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park on April 28th. Both events are free to the public.

The opening ceremonies of the Dragon Boat Races will take place at Marriott Waterside, beginning at 8:30am; each team will race three times on the 450m five-lane course on the Garrison Channel. Teams can be made up of corporate or community groups and will compete to be placed in divisions, to be in with a chance to become division champion.

Asia Fest, presented by the Asian American Coalition of Florida, will run from 11am – 2:30pm; it is the 29th year of this event which will feature entertainment, food, and merchandise representing 17 Asian countries. There will be a Breast Cancer Pink Carnation ceremony at 11:15am. In addition, the 4th annual Miss Asia Fest Competition will crown one woman. Other entertainment will include dance demonstrations and musical performances. Tampa is home to many different cultures, and this event will show much of the richness of the area. Poster printing services have most likely provided a colourful poster for Asia Fest with all the necessary facts to advertise this great event across the city.

There are many ways for local companies to help with Asia Fest; scholarships for $500-$10,000 are available, ads can be purchased for the event program, and vendors pay $75 for each table. Those who cater to the Asian population of the city, or those who are interested in Asian foods and products will be interested in what the vendors have to offer.
