Tampa gets fresh with monthly market

The Hyde Park Village Fresh Market takes place on the first Sunday of every month from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, with the next date to remember being August 5. Over 70 vendors are in attendance each week, selling a variety of local and handmade products.
Vendors at the Fresh Market sell everything one can think of, including locally-grown fruits and vegetables, spices, artisan breads, handmade crafts, artwork, jewelry, and plants. In addition, there is live musical entertainment and activities such as cooking demonstrations and even mini-massages.
Those who plan to sell at the market must apply to the Market Manager. They pay a $10 application fee and provide pictures of the merchandise and information on what they intend to sell. Those who are accepted in the Tampa area will no doubt be working with local printing companies to help them prepare to showcase their products. Arranging for banner printing services will ensure that their booth is not overlooked and that people will be drawn in by a colorful banner. A well-designed sign will also make sure their booth is visible to everyone who visits the market.
These days, there is a large movement towards eating and buying products that are locally-grown or produced only. This movement, called the locavore movement, helps to improve the local economy, it is more environmentally friendly since products have a lesser distance to travel and it helps to build community cohesiveness. Attendees may find that there is nothing quite like spending a Sunday with the family at an outdoor market, admiring all that the community has to offer.
