Community togetherness the focus of Pompano Beach

January 15, 2013 by

The city of Pompano Beach is holding its second annual ‘Unity in the Community’ event in early February. This event is meant to bring together everyone in the city regardless of cultural, economic, or religious background. It is an occasion that aims to foster the true meaning of what community should be.

This year’s event will feature musical entertainment, singers, community bands, performances by cultural groups, a clown, a DJ, exhibits from community organizations such as the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and bounce houses. There will also be a Bounce House Derby. In addition there will be free food and drink and exhibits from local businesses. It sounds like it will be a fun event suitable for the entire family and a great chance to meet neighbors and possibly make new friends.

Businesses taking part in Unity in the Community will be given exhibit space free of charge but must supply their own tables and chairs. They will be handing out free samples and literature, but they will not be selling any products. It is very likely that many of those businesses will be working with Pompano Beach printing companies to make their preparations. Using banner printing services is one possible way they could draw attention to their table. Alternatively, local brochure printers could supply literature for visitors to take home with them.

Unity in the Community will take place in Pompano Community Park on February 2 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information, call 954-709-5894.
