Successful small businesses get ready for Tampa convention

August 29, 2013 by

The 33rd annual Small Business of the Year Awards, presented by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, will take place in just a few weeks’ time. Up to 900 area businesspersons are expected to attend this year’s event.

Guests who attend will be treated to a cocktail reception, dinner, and an awards presentation. Recipients of the awards were nominated by the general public and their business peers. Awards will be given for Startup Business of the Year, Outstanding Leader of the Year, and Small Business of the Year. There are three categories of the Small Business of the Year award: companies with 5-20, 21-50, and 51-250 employees.

Sponsorships are also available for local businesses who wish to support this annual event. In addition, the awards ceremony will be another chance for Tampa area businesspersons, including those from nearby Plant City, to network with one another. Guests will probably especially want to try and make some connections with those who were finalists or winners of the awards, so a business card printing order in advance will allow for a greater chance of doing this.

The Small Business of the Year Awards will take place at the Tampa Convention Center on September 20 from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $90 for chamber members and $100 for non-members, and tables of 10 are available for $1,000 and $1,150. For more information about the awards and the day itself, please contact Staci Fraser at 813-276-9453.
