Floridians invited to Step Up

May 30, 2013 by

The 3rd annual Florida Step Up for TS is taking place over two days in Lakeland this June, helping to raise funds to support the Tourettes Syndrome Association in Florida.

There will be several events taking place over the weekend, including a benefit concert by David Pillman and Kourtney Rea. Pillman will also be signing autographs and selling copies of his new CD. There will also be a baseball game between the Lakeland Flying Tigers and the Tampa Yankees.

The main event of the weekend though is the 5K Walk. Participants pay a $25 fee to take part and can also raise pledges from friends, family, and co-workers.

It’s very likely that participants will come from near and far, including Plant City, to take part in this worthwhile celebration. Local printing companies have likely provided products such as flyers or signs to help advertise the event.

The benefit concert will take place on June 8 at Rock Community Church, while the baseball game will be held at Joker Merchant Stadium on June 9 beginning at 1:00 PM. Tickets are $10 each.

The 5K Walk will begin at 8:00 am on June 8 and will take place at Common Grounds Park. For more information contact Michelle Staley at 718-224-2999.

The Hampton Inn is offering a special discounted room rate of $94 per night for those coming from out of town to take part in the festivities. Call 863-603-7600 and mention Florida Step Up for TS to register.
