Universal Orlando announcement makes Harry Potter fans merry

A new Harry Potter Christmas experience is scheduled to begin this fall at Universal Orlando, no doubt to the delight of fans of the J. K. Rowling series of books.

Spring may be in the air but Universal Orlando is already planning for cooler temperatures and the holiday season. The company recently announced its new experience, ‘Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter’. All fans of the fictional wizard are invited to the park to enjoy the event, which will include a new nighttime show, and special effects and projection mapping on Hogwarts castle.

Additional holiday plans included in the announcement were changes to the holiday parade, such as sponsorship from Macy’s – the hosts of the popular annual Thanksgiving Day parade held in New York each year. The parade will have new floats that include Dreamworks characters like Shrek and Minions.

It may seem too early in the year for some business owners to begin their holiday plans but Universal is showing their marketing skills with this announcement. Now might be the ideal time to print those marketing brochures, holiday banners, and promotional items so they are ready when holiday traffic begins.

The special Harry Potter celebration begins on November 18 and will run through January 6, 2018. The parade and all of the special events are included with the regular admission to the park.
