The LWP Golf Classic returns to Orlando

April 19, 2013 by

The Leadership Winter Park Golf Classic tournament is taking place today, as a sign that spring is upon us and golf season is beginning in earnest all over the country.

Of course, it is always golf season in Florida. The LWP Golf Classic is a fundraiser for the Leadership Winter Park Scholarship Fund and the BETA Center, the latter of which offers services to at-risk families and teen mothers.

Fees to take part in the golf tournament will cover golf play, a box lunch and an Alumni social dinner. There will be a shot gun start and a Helicopter Ball Drop contest. Players buy tickets with numbers on them, and then golf balls with those numbers are dropped onto the 18th green and the ones closest to the pin win $500 for first place and $250 for second place. The alumni social will feature a silent auction too.

Businesses taking part in the Golf Classic might consider working with local print companies to help advertise their participation. They can design and create a flyer that can be distributed through direct mail to their current customers. This might result in more people coming out to take part in the tournament, meaning that more money is raised and greater awareness of the cause is acheived.

The LWP Golf Classic will take place at Dubsdread Golf Course in Orlando on today, April 19, from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Tickets for the Helicopter Ball Drop contest are $10 each or $20 for three.
