Orlando shows its puppy love with a new dog park

For the residents of the Thornton Park District, a new dog park is now available at Constitution Green. The grand opening was attended by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and festivities included a dog costume contest and prize giveaways.

Orlando is known for its sunshine, beaches and being the home to Disney and Epcot Center, but the city is very dog-friendly too. The outdoor lifestyle may lure people with pooches to the area, but the residents of Orlando have many four-legged pals and they do not like leaving them behind when they hit the town.

Throughout the city, pet owners will find may pet-friendly spots. This includes nightclubs, restaurants and hotels. Even apartment listings proudly boast their acceptance of pets, and some provide play areas on-site for the pets of all residents. Doggy daycare, pampering pet salons, and boutiques reserved just for canine clothing all abound.

Of course, what dogs love most is getting outside and getting active and Orlando does not disappoint here either. Across the city are numerous off-leash dog parks that provide a secure area for pet owners to socialize while their beloved dogs get some exercise together.

Thornton Park organizers announced the news and the grand opening on Facebook, but to encourage more locals to attend the next big event, they could consider advertising within the community as well. Posters, flyers and banners are a great way to draw attention to exciting upcoming events.
