Oktoberfest hits Orlando area

Numerous events and activities mark the calendar for Oktoberfest in the Orlando area, and most likely a variety of printing services is being used to make those in the area aware of their local events.

First up, this Friday and Saturday will see a family-oriented Oktoberfest party in Avalon Park. The event is free to attend with German music provided by Europa and additional entertainment by Magic Curtain Productions, a group of theatrical kids. A beer garden will be on hand for the adults and a root beer garden will ensure the kids are not left out.

Later this month, the German-American Society of Central Florida will be holding its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 26, at its hall in Casselberry from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It is intended to be a family event with a fun zone for the kids and a beer garden for the adults. Other activities will include a stein-holding contest and dancing to the accordion music of Sonnenschein Express. There will be additional performances from Schuhplattler Gruppe Alpenrose, a German dance group.

Lastly, the community of Celebration will be holding its Oktoberfest on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26. On Friday, there will be live German polka dancing, German-style yodeling, and singalongs with the sounds of Dan Witucki and his Heimatland Musikanten. On Saturday Lucy Iris and the Micah Read Band will be the entertainment, with American rock music, and there will be additional fall-related activities including hay rides and pumpkin painting. The event is sponsored in part by The Celebration Town Tavern, Melia Suite Hotel, and Axis Magazine.
