November 18, 2013 by Max
Baer’s Furniture recently opened a new store in West Melbourne, just outside of Orlando, making it the 15th store it owns and, at a size of 100,000 square feet, the largest as well. No doubt flyer printing and poster printing are being used to make customers in Central Florida aware of this recent opening.
According to chief executive and chairman of Baer’s Furniture, Bobby Baer, this store will enable the company to become a leader in the furniture industry and one in which people along the eastern seaboard of the United States shop for furniture.
Baer’s Furniture is a family-owned business with another store in central Florida in Altamonte Springs and the Pinecrest neighborhood in Miami-Dade County.
Featured brands include Serta, Tommy Bahama Home, and Broyhill. There are also assortments for living and dining rooms, bedrooms, offices, and patios sold there. Around 50 people are employed at the Melbourne store, ranging from designers to sales associates and truck drivers.
Overall, about 600 people work for the company in all its stores, with over a third of them having been employed by Baer Furniture for more than five years. There are 10 Baer family members on the company’s payroll and, according to Bobby Baer, there used to be one Baer family member in every store.
Furniture Today, a trade publication based in North Carolina, states that Baer’s sales of bedding, furniture, and accessories was priced up at $143.2m in 2012 – an increase of 8% over 2011.
