Twenty years and counting for Ocoee Founders Day

October 25, 2013 by

The Founders Day Festival has reached its 20th year, and is taking place in Ocoee for two days this November.

The festival will start off with a concert by Eddy Montgomery and Troy Gentry. The next day is going to feature a performance by Travis Tritt. The second day of the festival features a variety of family-friendly activities such as carnival rides, games, a fishing tournament with prizes and ribbons being handed out, a classic car show, and the 5K Fun Run to raise money for Supplies to Assist our Students (STARS). Carnival rides are also going to add to the excitement, as will the fireworks display.

Children’s activities taking place during the day will include free face painting, a bicycle fest, and several contests. Food vendors will also be on hand to sell various items, while arts and crafts are set to be displayed in the Marketplace located on Bluford Avenue. In addition, the Withers Maguire House and Museum will be open for free tours.

Ocoee printing companies will no doubt be kept busy by providing tickets and advertising materials in preparation.

The Founders Day Festival is taking place at Bill Breeze Park from November 8-9. The fireworks display be held on November 9 beginning at 9:30 pm. Tickets for the festival are free but preferred seating tickets for the concerts are available for $25 each or $40 for two. To find out more, contact Mark Johnson or Rusty Johnson at 407-905-3180.
