First Saturday in August offers a couple of choices

Summer is in full swing and outdoor events continue in Orlando this August. Two such upcoming events are the Rock the Block celebration and the 4th annual Margarita Fest.

The former is a presentation of Rock Orlando and will feature musical entertainment, extreme sports demonstrations, health and wellness information and tips, and plenty of children’s activities. This is likely to be of particular interest to those looking to lead a healthier life.

Rock the Block will take place in the Amway Arena parking lot on August 3 from 12:00 – 9:00 PM. Admission is free. For more information about the event call 407-628-1828.

Being held on the same day, Margarita Fest is a popular annual event for those over age 21. Guests can enjoy musical entertainment such as reggae and rock, 20 different kinds of margaritas and tequila to enjoy, and plenty of food for sampling. No doubt some attendees will use the event to get to know their neighbors and enjoy what Orlando has to offer.

Margarita Fest will take place in the Wall Street Plaza on August 3 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. General admission tickets are $20 and Tequila Terrace tickets are $30 and includes the cost of food, an air conditioned terrace, and tequila samplings. To find out more about the festival, call 407-849-0471.

Both of these events will probably attract people from all over the Orlando area, including nearby Ocoee. Local printing companies are probably helping the organizers get the word out by providing services such as flyer printing.
