North Miami Beach ready for fun in the snow
November 26, 2012 by Sarah
Florida is usually best known for its fine summers, with snow and ice usually the last thing on the minds of the people who move there. It is important not to miss out of the fun of snow and winter, however, and those who live in North Miami Beach can experience the snow without having to deal with the cold or without jumping on a plane to northern areas, as the annual Snowfest festival brings the now to Florida, as well as all the fun that comes along with it.
Snowfest, which is presented by the City of North Miami Beach Leisure Services Department, will feature a snow mountain and a rock climbing wall for those who want to get active. There will also be arts and crafts activities in which children can take part, bouncy houses, carnivals and holiday-themed games, a live DJ, and children will be able to write a letter to Santa Claus.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman, and The Grinch will all be dropping by, and food and refreshments will be available for sale. It sounds like it will be a fun evening for the kids and their parents, as well as a great way to celebrate the joys of winter, to build excitement about Christmas, and to have some fun. No doubt organizers will be working with local printing companies to spread the word to the community.
Snowfest will take place at the Gwen Margolis Amphitheater on December 15 from 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm, with tickets priced at $5. For more information, call 305-948-2957.
