Save the date for the Naples Winter Wine Festival

December 15, 2011 by

The 11th annual Naples Winter Wine Festival will take place from January 26-29, 2012 at the Ritz Carlton Resort. The festival has been called the “most successful wine auction in the nation” and is ranked among the top 10 events for wealth Americans.

While you don’t have to be wealthy to attend, tickets are $8500 per couple. All proceeds go to the Naples Children and Education Foundation; this event has raised almost $95 million dollars for the foundation since it began in 2001. Local printing companies have most likely been busy printing tickets for this event, which usually sells out quickly.

The festival starts off on January 26 with C’est Magique Honored Vinter, a wine tasting lunch which takes place from 10 am-2 pm. An additional ticket for $2500 is necessary to attend this lunch. Attendance is limited to 70 and those in attendance will have the chance to sample several international wines. Lunch will be served in the Lemonia restaurant.

The Meet the Kids Tour and Grant Luncheon will take place on January 27. Ticket holders will be taken on a tour of the facilities that their donations help and will meet some of the children helped by the Foundation. After the tour they will be served lunch at the Hamilton Harbour Yacht club which will include wine tasting.

Dinner on January 27 will take place at 17 homes in Naples; ticket holders will receive invitations from one of the home owners. Several well-known chefs will be preparing the dinners and, of course, wine tasting is included.

The Believe in Magic Auction will be held from 11 am-5 pm on January 28. Items up for auction include wine, travel tours and dining packages. The auction is followed by the Wine Down Event which will include wine, food and live music.

The event comes to a close on January 29 with the Celebration Brunch from 10:30 am-1 pm.
