Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting: Enjoy tradition in Naples

November 13, 2012 by

The holidays are a special time for most of us and we look forward to them every year. Whether or not they celebrate Christmas, a large number of Naples residents and visitors are drawn to take part in the Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony each year. The event features plenty of holiday music, dance performances and children’s activities. This year the tree will be lit by Mayor John Sorey III and Santa Claus.

Fifth Avenue South will be closed off to traffic for the ceremony. Stores and restaurants open their doors to the public. There is entertainment all along the street and crowds flock to the area every year. Entertainment is provided by school choirs, community groups, dance groups and individual performers. Santa Claus will be mingling with the crowds and hearing from the children about what they want for Christmas.

The evening is one way to celebrate the joys of the season while having the opportunity to do some last minute shopping for family and friends. No doubt Naples printing companies will be working with several of the stores to get ready for this special event. A colorful banner hung outside a store can announce a sale for that night or an on-going sale for the season. They might also want to send out flyers to their customers letting them know about this annual event and offering a discount deal if they bring it back to the store.

The Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place December 6 at Sugden Plaza on Fifth Avenue South from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. For more information call 239-692-8436.
