Abracadabra, the fifth annual exhibition and fund raising raffle for the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood will be showing at the Center until March 9. The closing reception and raffle will take place on March 9 from 6-9 pm. Raffle tickets cost $375 which includes admission for two to the reception. General admission to the reception and exhibit are $30.
The exhibit features 100 donated works of arts in all media from invited artists who are chosen by the Center’s curator and the Events Committee; these artworks will then be raffled off. Some of the invited writers include Loriel Beltran, Matthew Kellen, Dave Sharma and Katherine Rudin. The organizers promise that every work of art has a selling price over $375. Those attending the reception will be treated to an open bar and hors d’oeuvres and the raffle will take place at 8 pm.
Art lovers from all over the area, including Miramar, should try to support organizations such as the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. With many arts programs being cut, such a place becomes even more important to maintain. Local printing companies are most likely doing their part by working with the organizers to create the raffle tickets and literature associated with this fund raiser.
The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood:
“fosters a creative environment where new and challenging work can flourish through programs that reflect the highest standards of artistry and diversity.”
They provide not only outstanding live performances but also provide educational programs for children, youth, adults and teachers.
