Vote early and often for The People’s Pick

April 16, 2013 by

It is time to vote, but not for those seeking public office. The People’s Pick competition is upon us again and Miami residents can vote for the top six finalists in each of two tracks, in the Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge.

This will make the 15th year for the Challenge and the 7th years that the Peoples’ Pick has participated in voting for the winner.

Earlier in April the contestants, who had only a couple of days’ notice, made their 90-second elevator pitches, in the studios of FIU and the Miami Herald.

Voting takes place at the Miami Herald website, where visitors can click on the word ‘challenge’ at the top left of the page and from there all elevator pitches from the finalists’ can be viewed. The first six will be in the Community Track, followed by the six competing in the FIU Track.

Voting is limited to once per day per person, but each time a person is eligible to vote, they can do so in each track. To vote, visitors need to scroll down to the bottom of each page to find a place to cast a ballot. The public has until 11:59 pm on April 22 to cast its votes.

This competition is a great way for these companies to interact with the public and for the public to express their opinion. Contestants are bound to be contacting their local printing companies to add their position as a finalist to their next stationery printing order. Winners will be announced on May 6, in the Business Monday section of the Miami Herald.
