Time for wine in Miami
July 22, 2012 by Mark
The Miami International Wine Fair has been increasing in size ever since its inception back in 2001, when David Bernard and Jose B Besada co-founded the event. Since then, having grown by about 400%, it is now arguably recognized as America’s premier wine trade show. This year, September 15 – 16, will be the dates that mark the 11th Annual Miami International Wine Fair.
The event will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, located at 1901 Convention Center Drive in Miami, Florida. This location provides 70,000 square feet of exhibit space. In consideration of the focus of the event, 85% of the exhibitors are usually wine producers, distributors, and importers. Exhibitors of gourmet foods and spirits are also welcomed, though, as they too are usually greatly appreciated at the event. They may choose to invest in business card printing to facilitate networking at this monumental and auspicious occasion.
Last year was the biggest show yet, attracting more than 5000 wine trade professionals, representatives of 300 wineries, and approximately 1200 wines that came from 16 different countries. Importers, distributors, and retailers from Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chili, South Africa, Italy, Spain, and many other countries were present. The expectation is for an even bigger event this time round.
Seminars this year will be about what sells in America, the three-tier system, the latest trends in the US wine retail market, and exporting wine to the US. Also, this year’s grand tasting will integrate the general public.
The cheaper tickets to the event may be purchased online in advance.
