Miami’s top Caribbean destinations named by writer

Miami Airport could be soon to see a boost in flights to certain locations, as a list of five top destinations was been put together for Miami residents who want to venture south by travel writer David Swanson this month.

Number one on his list was Port Antonio, Jamaica – a classic, authentic port gushing with charm and amenities. Port Antonio is a traditional town, well-removed from the mega-hotels, resorts, and cruise ships mainly associated with Jamaica. Jerk cooking was born here in the reasonably priced restaurants, and the hotels offer comfortable rooms in a laid-back atmosphere.

Once again, Punta Cana is on the list as one of the Dominican Republic’s top tourist destinations. Sprawling all-inclusive resorts line the 40-mile long sandy beach and offer a range of affordable, family-friendly accommodations.

Not far behind is San Juan, Puerto Rico, a popular and affordable Caribbean gem. While the city may attract people with nightlife and dining, seaside villages, deserted beaches, and lush rainforests are only a car-drive away. The decent roads make it one of the most-travelled islands by tourists.

The U.S. Virgin Islands is an affordable destination from Miami, with many reduced airfares and discount coupons for shopping, dining, and fun activities. Affordable accommodations can be found in the hills surrounding the historic capital of Charlotte Amalie.

The final destination in the list is Tulum, Mexico – a Mayan city built right on the sea located 70 miles south of Cancun. Plenty of bargains can be found in the string of hotels on the sandy beach south of the fortress.

Opportunities for promotions to these top destinations are endless, including flyer printing, brochures, poster printing, and postcard printing. Colorful banner printing at travel agencies can also be an effective marketing tool for destinations or specific hotels and restaurants.
