Start off Small Business Week with a celebration

April 15, 2012 by

The Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce is presenting the Small Business Week Celebration Breakfast at the Westin Lake Mary Orlando North on May 24 from 7:30-9:30 am. Tickets for the breakfast are $20 or $200 for a table of eight which includes the company sign on the table.

The breakfast signals the beginning of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Small Business Week. The breakfast will be an excellent networking opportunity for chamber members and those thinking of becoming members; those who plan to attend from Seminole County including Longwood and Lake Mary should arrange for a new business card printing order so that they will be handing out crisp, clean cards to everyone they meet. Sponsorships are available for the event.

The 2012 Small Business awards will also be presented during the morning. The key note speaker for the event will be Rick Cochran who was voted 2011 National Small Business Person of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration. There are seven small businesses up for grabs the winners of each will be nominated for the national awards. Those awards are:

• 2012 Small Business of the Year
• Young Entrepreneur of the Year – a business owner under 30
• Family Owned Business of the Year
• Home-based Business of the Year
• Women-owned Business of the Year
• Not for Profit Small Business Person of the Year
• Business Advocate of the Year

This is just the first of several Small Business Week events to be held in Seminole County.
