Sanford shows good taste

August 7, 2012 by

The Taste of Sanford will take place at the Sanford Civic Center and Courtyard on August 30 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Tickets are $25 with a portion of the proceeds going to the Greater Sanford Regional Chamber of Commerce’s scholarship fund.

Those who attend will get to sample wine and food from over 20 area restaurants. There will also be music and other entertaining activities. This event will let local eateries showcase their cuisine in a casual, fun atmosphere, which may help them to draw more business in future months.

Sponsorships are available from $175 to $750 for the Taste of Sanford. All sponsors will be recognized at the event through a banner, in the program booklet, and in the Chamber’s newsletter. It is fair to assume that companies from all over the area, including nearby Longwood, will wish to support this popular annual event. No doubt the organizers of the event will be relying on area printing companies to provide them with banner printing and brochure printing services.

The Education Committee of the Sanford Regional Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to improving the education of the community. In addition to providing scholarships, the volunteer committee provides job-shadowing programs, teacher recognition, and ‘teach-ins’. In order to qualify for a scholarship a student must be a resident of the area or attend an area school, have a 3.0 GPA, have demonstrated past involvement in community services, and have been accepted into a college or university. The scholarships is worth a minimum of $500.
