Local businesses set to showcase at annual tasting event

The 20th annual Taste of Oviedo is returning to the area less than two weeks’ time.

Local restaurants will be showing off during this day-long event and guests will pay a small fee to try samples of their food. In addition, other local businesses will be on hand to showcase their products and services.

There will be activities for guests of every age. The Kids’ Area will feature bounce houses and trampolines. There will also be live music all through the day, competitions, and a vehicle show. The event will end with a fireworks display.

Anyone can register to display their car, although the limit is 100 vehicles. The registration fee is $10, and there will be trophies for the top 20 and gift certificates worth $25 for the top 10.

The Chicken Chomp Contest will feature wings, celery, and orange juice. Entrants pay a fee of $20 which goes to the Oviedo Preservation Project. The Citrus and Celery Cook off is expected to consist of 32 home-cooked dishes in the two categories.

The event will no doubt attract visitors from all over Seminole County, including Longwood. To advertise these kinds of events, organizers often invest in flyer printing services to spread the word.

The event will take place at Oviedo Mall on March 8 from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information, call Bridget Lake at 407-278-4871.
