Golf tournament raises funds for Seminole County schools

The Golf “Fore” Education Tournament is taking place in Longwood this April. It is expected to attract over 250 players.

Funds raised through the tournament will go to help several Seminole County Public Schools programs such as ‘Backpacks for Success’, ‘Take Stock in Children’, and ‘Grants for Great Ideas’.

Golf fees are $300 per player, and this includes the use of a golf cart, breakfast, a snack, lunch, dinner and a goodie bag. Players will compete in games such as a putting contest and getting a ball closest to the pin. Awards will be presented at the dinner. It is a two-flight tournament which will have a morning and an afternoon start.

Sponsorships are also available for local businesses from $300 to $5,000. Sponsors will be recognized both on the golf course and at dinner.

A golf game is seen by some as a great business networking opportunity. Many of those who plan to attend this Longwood event will likely be placing a business card printing order in advance.

The tournament will be held at the Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes on April 14 beginning at 8:00 am and running until 1:30 pm. Tickets for lunch or dinner only are $50 each. To learn more about the tournament, or about the cause, contact Susan Zettler at 407-320-0196.
