BBQ Blowout returning to Oviedo Mall

May 3, 2013 by

The annual Central Florida BBQ Blowout is taking place over two days this May. The event is a presentation of the Oviedo-Winter Springs chamber and proceeds go to support HOPE Helps Inc. – an organization that provides support to the homeless.

The event consists of a World Food Championship qualifying barbecue competition, a concert by Steel Magnolia, a truck and tractor show, Mickey’s play area for children, vendors, a dinner and craft beer tastings. There are two categories in the barbecue competition; professional and backyard. Currently, there are 21 competitors in both categories. It should be a great chance to taste some top barbecued food and to discover some local businesses and restaurants.

Sponsorships are available for individuals and local businesses from $250 – $10,000. Sponsors will be recognized at the event through such means as banners and signs and, depending on the level, they will also receive booth space to promote their business.

It is very likely that sponsors and visitors to the event will come from all over Central Florida, including nearby Longwood. Organizers will no doubt be investing in services such as flyer printing in order to spread the word about the upcoming event.

The BBQ Blowout will take place at Oviedo Mall from May 24 – 25. Tickets are $25 or $45 for VIP offerings, which include a ‘meet and greet’ opportunity. A wristband for access to the children’s play area is included in the price of tickets. To find out more, visit the event’s website.
