Now that 2013 has come to a close, many events are coming up in the New Year in the area around Largo, and no doubt their promoters are turning to printing companies to help them with advertising directed at the local communities.

At the Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg between January 10 – 12 is the Sunshine City Antiques and Collectibles Show, which is recognized around the nation with its display of antiques from close to 100 exhibitors.

The Treasure Island Kite Fest will take place on January 18 and 19, with kites of all sizes and shapes filling up the skies with precision flying, tricks set to music, amateur fliers, and huge themed kites. Also on January 18 is the Festival of Chocolate, with pastry chef demonstrations, chef and guest competitions, chocolate and wine pairings, classes on how to work with chocolate, a game show, activities for the kids, and a variety of vendors.

Many events are slated for Martin Luther King Day. On January 20, along Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, is the Martin Luther King Drum Major for Justice Parade. The day before the parade is a Battle of the Bands Extravaganza, during which parading bands will compete in Tropicana Field.

Finally, in Largo Central Park on January 25, there will be the Touch a Truck event where kids have the opportunity to climb on and play around a variety of trucks and other vehicles, including buses, motorcycles, dump trucks, fire trucks, and the famous Bayflight helicopter.
