Celebrate the holidays in Lake Worth
November 23, 2011 by James
Lake Worth will be a Holiday Wonderland this December. From December 3-January 6, 2012, Downtown Lake Worth will be alive with holiday celebrations. This four-week celebration will celebrate the holidays and cultures from around the world.
The festivities begin on December 3 with Holly Days. This free event which will take place from 5-9 pm will feature a petting zoo, letters to Santa, pictures with Santa, a tree lighting ceremony and various cultural events. That same night, the Downtown Holiday Shopping Spree will allow those in attendance to visit various stores, view their holiday storefront displays and have an edible treat or two. Local Fort Worth printers possibly will provide banner printing and other printing services for some of these stores to help make their decorations extra special.
On December 10, Santa’s Wonderland Workshop and Parade will take place from 12-8 pm; it will feature a bike giveaway. Santa and Mrs Claus will be there, there will be a craft workshop and cultural entertainment. The Light up the Night Parade will begin at 6 pm and will feature high school bands and floats.
Sounds of the Season takes place on December 17 from 5-9 pm and features holiday music performed by local choirs and high school bands.
The celebration will wrap up in January with the Nightmare after Christmas; a combination of Halloween and Christmas featuring the Divas Holiday Drag Show.
There should be something that everyone can find to enjoy during Holiday Wonderland. Whichever you choose to attend, it should help to get you in a holiday frame of mind.
