April 9, 2012 by Mark
The 2012 annual Juried Art Show will take place at the Osceola Center for the Arts in Kissimmee, from May 1st-31st. The submitted art work is available for viewing Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm. An opening reception will be held on May 1st from 6- 8 pm; it is free and open to the public.
Each artist can submit up to three pieces of art; each entry costs $15. The chosen artwork should have not been shown at the Center before, it must be framed and/or ready for display, it can be no larger than 60×60 inches, and it must be delivered to the Center by April 25th.
There are five categories of acceptable artwork:
1. Painting: oil, acrylic or watercolor
2. Pastels, printmaking, drawing and graphics
4. Mixed media
A slide, photograph or digital file must be submitted along with each work of art.
There are cash awards for Best of Show ($300) and 1st place in each category ($200). Ribbons will be presented to those who come in 2nd and 3rd in each category. Kissimmee printing companies will no doubt be providing the stationery printing, such as poster printing, banner printing, and even certificates and ribbons to the organizers of the art show.
Everyone who paints, whether it is to earn a living or simply as a hobby, wants to know that people appreciate what they are creating. Juried shows such as this one give everyone an equal chance to shine and to have their talents recognized by the community at large. It is a great opportunity to see the talents of Kissimmee.
