The Jupiter Citizens Academy, also known as Jupiter U, is presenting a panel session at the Jupiter Community Center on March 8 from 6:30-8:30 pm. It is a free session entitled ‘Strong local economy and a responsive, sustainable local government.’

When you move to a town, or when you have lived in it a long time, you don’t often know how the town’s resources work together. This panel session, and others put on by the Jupiter Citizens Academy seeks to provide those who attend with a background on the local government and how it operates, they will also learn how the town resources are organized, how the town attracts new businesses and supports the existing ones, what economic development initiatives the town government is working on and what role Jupiter plays in the Florida Regional Center.

This panel would also be of interest for those who are currently trying to start up a new business. Knowing what resources are available from government initiatives is one of the most important first steps you can take when deciding to open a new business.

The next step would be to join the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber holds several informative sessions monthly which are also excellent networking opportunities throughout the area including Jupiter. Before you join the chamber remember to arrange for business card printing so that you have extras to hand out at the next networking meeting and can grow your referral network.
