Art festival swoops back into Jupiter

The 29th annual Artigras fine arts festival is returning to Jupiter for three days next month. It is hosted by the Northern Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The festival itself will feature a wide variety of art works that will be available for purchase, and the artists are competing for approximately $17,000 in prize money among 13 categories, including ceramics, drawing, and jewelry. There is also a prize of a $250 gift certificate for an emerging artist.

This annual event attracts at least 85,000 visitors, for whom there will be an artist’s demo stage, an Artkids area, a beer garden ,and a concessions court. In addition, Activity Avenue will allow guests to take part in art classes while enjoying wine and cheese. Finally, the green zone is set to showcase environmentally friendly art practices.

The festival gives great exposure to local artists and helps them to establish their name in the community. Many will likely be investing in business cards from Jupiter stationery printers to help people keep in contact with them.

Artigras is taking place at the Abacoa Town Centre from February 15 to 17 beginning at 10:00 am each day. Admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the gate, while children aged 12 and under will be admitted free. For more information, call 561-748-3946.

It will be preceded by a kick-off party taking place on January 23 at Store Self-storage from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm. This is an invitation only event and guests will enjoy food and drink samples while getting a sneak peek at the works to be sold at the festival.
