Tides are turning with the Florida Surfing Championships

October will get a summer flavor with The Florida Surfing Championships offering over $30,000 in cash and prizes to be won by world-class surfers.
In addition to the surfing championship, the Sea Walk Celebration will be held at the Oceanfront Seawalk Plaza on October 6 from 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm. The celebration will feature such activities as a surfing-related art show, food, beer, music from acts like the Wailers, a vendor village, a skateramp, a 5K run/walk, and a kayak challenge. There will also be the GromZone, providing activities for teenagers.
There will also be an eco-village that will provide information and advice from local environmental organization. Organizations taking part will probably be working with Jacksonville printing companies to provide informative literature for visitors to take home with them. The vendors in the village and those taking part in the art show and sale will no doubt also be contacting printing companies to help them prepare for the event, perhaps with the help of banner printing and flyer printing.
The surfing showdown is shaping up to be a fun event for surfing fans to enjoy and might even have something to offer to visitors who are not familiar with the pastime. They will witness some first-class surfing and will have lots of fun doing it. The competition will take place at the Jacksonville Beach Pier from October 4-7 and is sanctioned by the Florida Surfing Association. For more information, call 904-242-6922.
