Celebrate Earth Day in Jacksonville

March 3, 2012 by

The 22nd annual Earth Day and Ecology Fair will take place at Jacksonville Landing on April 21 from 10 am-4 pm. Admission is free.

There are expected to be 80 booths at the Ecology Fair featuring “earth friendly companies”, educational and interactive demonstrations. There will also be lots of children’s crafts and activities, live music and entertainment, a children’s stage with demonstrations and interactive fun, face painting, the Right Whale obstacle course, a movie theater and prizes for everyone. Jacksonville printing companies may well have been involved in creating the fun poster highlighting sea life in Jacksonville and a related t-shirt for purchase.

It is in everyone’s best interest that we learn how to conserve the earth and its natural resources. It is especially important that the younger generation learn how to treat the earth right from the very beginning. While there will be lots of fun at the Ecology Fair that fun will also be educational and children will learn much from the hands-on exhibits and demonstrations. The various companies who are hosting displays at the fair will no doubt provide take-away brochures and flyers chock full of advice on how to live an environmentally sensitive life. Smart organizations will provide freebies such as pens, notebooks and posters; those will be snapped up instantly.

Thankfully, most companies and communities are dedicated to creating a society that is environmentally sensitive. Most municipalities and companies, if not all, have recycling policies in effect which help to cut down the amount of waste produced.
