The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce is presenting the four-part ‘Achieve your Business Dream’ series at the Small Business Center on Tuesdays from October 2 – 23, with each workshop taking place from 5:30 pm – 8:45 pm.
Fees for the entire series are $99 or $30 for each workshop and all printed materials necessary will be provided. No doubt Jacksonville printing companies will be helping to provide those materials, perhaps including stationery printing.
The first in the series is ‘Foundations for your business’, which will take place on October 2. Those attending will learn about starting a business, deciding on structure, deciding on the people they want to attract as customers, and defining what their business will be selling. Each person will also be assigned a SCORE business mentor.
October 9 ushers in the second workshop, ‘Business and financial basics’, which will cover naming a business, choosing a logo and a tagline, recognizing the competition, financial basics, and the importance of networking.
Workshop number three will take place on October 16 and will be on the topic of ‘Marketing strategies’. It will offer advice on buying marketing products, designing a website, the importance of social media, and using low-cost tools and marketing methods.
The final workshop, scheduled for October 23, is ‘Create your plan for your business’. This will cover creating a basic business plan and developing an elevator speech.
These four workshops should give anyone starting a business a solid understanding of the process.
