Outdoor street festival coming to Hialeah this weekend

February 21, 2013 by

The annual ‘Art on Palm’ street festival in Hialeah is coming up very shortly. It features activities that will appeal to every member of the family.

The main focus of the festival is naturally on the 50 local artists who will be displaying and selling their works of art to an appreciative audience. However, there will also be musical performances, children’s activities, food trucks, and the Nostalgia Cuba Row. There will also be a wide variety of street performers including magicians, stilt walkers, mimes, dancers, and storybook characters.

In addition, the Palm Classic car show will also be taking place during the festival and will feature over 130 classic cars and motorcycles. Cash prizes and trophies will be awards to those vehicles chosen to be the best of the show. As if that is not enough, budding singers can also take part in the Univision voice competition ‘Idolo del Pueblo’.

This festival will be a great opportunity for local artists to make their work known to the general population. Many of them are likely to work with Hialeah printing companies to prepare for the festival by ordering services such as banner and postcard printing; many artists use postcards as their business cards with a sample of their work on the front and their contact information on the back.

Art on Palm will take place in downtown Hialeah on February 23 from midday until 10:00 pm. Admission is free. For more information, call 305-889-5701.
