Winterfest Boat Parade Taking Place December 10th

December 11, 2011 by

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is going to be the site of the annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade on December 10th, 2011.

Starting officially at 6:30 p.m., the Winterfest Boat Parade will be making its annual journey from Fort Lauderdale to Pompano Beach. If the website is anything to go by, local brochure printers have been hard at work for this event with pamphlets and newsletters from 2011 currently available for viewing.

The event is being described by organizers as a “12 Mile parade of glistening boats decorated to the theme or in holiday tradition. 100 boats will really float along the New River and Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach.”

What separates the 2011 Boat Parade from all the others is the fact that this is the event’s 40th year. Organizers have been announcing this milestone from the get-go. With sponsors that include Comcast, Go Riverwalk, Crunch Masters, and Fidelity Investments among others, the Winterfest Boat Parade is certainly well backed.

As per usual, Winterfest isn’t going to be confined to the Boat Parade. According to the website, the festival features everything from a golf tournament to a white party. Whether an individual prefers formal events or outdoor activities, there’s plenty to choose from here.

For those who are hoping to be there, it’s free to watch the procession from the shore. That being said, reserving a place is very affordable with grandstand tickets going from $16.00 to $21.00 per person.
