Organic food truck launches in Fort Lauderdale
July 25, 2013 by Mark
Eggstatic Food Truck parks outside apartments in Fort Lauderdale for around three hours to serve up healthy, organic breakfasts for residents.
According to the co-creator Diana Lichter, the truck serves up a breakfast for people who are eating on the go, made using organic, natural food. The truck has around 40 customers a day queuing up for the most important meal of the day.
One customer, Arie Gonzalez arrived at the Eggstatic Food Truck following a workout at the local gym and spoke to the Sun Sentinel. Gonzalez admitted she was drawn by the organic food, saying that the food she eats is important for her health and it also saves her cooking a breakfast.
Lichter graduated from a culinary school in Miami and has set up the venture with her business partner Charles Massad. All the breakfast options have creative names, which the pair says come from their appreciation of culture and food. Another food truck owner in the South Florida area says that the Eggstatic Food Truck is the only one he knows of which only serves breakfast. He believes that people will view stopping to buy breakfast as a luxury.
Since the launch last month, the truck has been inundated with customers, all looking for a healthy, quick breakfast made using ethically-reared animals. Local print companies may be required to produce new menus, while flyer printing will probably be needed for promotion.
