Learn the basics of marketing and branding in Fort Lauderdale

The City of Fort Lauderdale holds free monthly Business Education Seminars on a variety of topics, all of interest to small business owners. The next seminar will take place at the War Memorial Auditorium on June 6 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, the title of which will be “Business marketing and branding.”

The seminar will be presented by Nancy Leve from the Florida Women’s Business Center. Leve will be discussing what marketing is, how marketing is different to sales, and the common mistakes many people make in their marketing and branding. Some of the mistakes that Leve will be discussing will include a company not being aware of their target audience, not properly researching their competitors, not fully understanding what branding means, not pricing their product or services appropriately, and not measuring the results of their marketing campaigns.

Some companies make the mistake of thinking marketing campaigns have to be expensive and include television and radio advertizing. This could not be further from the truth. The most effective marketing campaigns are still those the involve direct mailings to the community. Arranging for flyer printing from Fort Lauderdale printing companies is the first step in a successful direct mail campaign. Flyers are simple to design, inexpensive to print (especially when purchased in bulk) and can be distributed in several different ways.

It’s important that new business owners understand marketing and branding right from the beginning so that they can continue to operate efficiently and profitably. For more information, visit the City of Fort Lauderdale website or call 954-828-4752.
