Brittany Oldehoff from Fort Lauderdale was recently chosen from 71 contestants as the winner of the Miss Florida USA Pageant.

The competition took place at the Bailey Concert Hall which is in Davie, and was aired live on WPLG-Local 10 as the 24 year old accepted the top prize. Following her success in the pageant, Brittany will be the representative of Florida in the Miss USA Pageant.

Brittany, who is 5′ 11″ tall, said that she was extremely nervous as the results of the contest were revealed. When her name was announced as the winner, Brittany was completely overcome with emotion and had to hold back her tears as she acknowledged the cheering crowd. Following the announcement, Brittany was presented with flowers as she accepted the winner’s crown. Wearing an evening gown, Brittany walked around the stage waving to the audience which was cheering for her, fighting to control her emotions. As representative of Florida, Brittany will face huge pressure during the run up to the Miss USA Pageant, with photos of the Fort Lauderdale model appearing in brochures and on posters. Local print companies may be called upon to provide brochure printing skills and other stationery.

Oldehoff started her career as a model at the age of 10, before being signed up at the age of 17 to an agency in Miami. She has also appeared on the reality TV shows Models of the Runway and Project Runway, in addition to walking the runway for designers, including Oscar de La Renta and Chanel.
