Residents of Doral and Miami can participate in a running and walking social event this weekend, through which they can learn about ways to stay in shape.

The event, called the Florida Running Company Brew Mile, forms part of Newton Running’s summer series to promote the social aspects of walking and running.

Admission is $5 and includes one beer or other beverage, depending upon age of recipient. Proceeds will benefit the Running With Sole programs which promotes physical activity and provides shoes to those in need.

This is an ideal event for families, as strollers and pets are both welcome. It begins at 7:00 pm tomorrow, August 28, at the Barracuda Raw Bar & Grill in Miami. In addition, the Florida Running Company promotes a weekly group run at 7:00 pm on Wednesdays that typically covers 2 – 4 miles.

This event can be a warm up to the Miami Kids Tri Race Series taking place on Sunday, September 1 at the Fiu Biscayne Bay Campus, 3000 NE 151st Street in North Miami.

This event is for kids of ages five and older. The race begins at 7:30 pm and includes running, swimming, and biking. All racers must have a bike helmet to participate.

Packet pickups will be available on Saturday, August 31, between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm

A pre-race clinic will be held at the Fiu Aquatic Center. Banner printing is perfect for marking the starting and ending location of races like this one.
