Fundraiser to be hosted by Jeff Perlman

The Union Restaurant in downtown Delray Beach will be the location for next week’s “Dine for Promise” fundraising event. Former mayor of Delray Beach, Jeff Perlman, is the Honorary Chairman of the event that will benefit Family Promise of South Palm Beach – a non-profit organization that supports local families and children who are temporarily homeless.

Perlman served two terms as Mayor of Delray Beach from 2000 to 2007 and is one of its biggest advocates. He is currently the co-CEO of the city’s destination management organization. He feels honored to host the event for such a worthy cause.

Since 2008, Family Promise of South Palm Beach has been assisting homeless families with children in the neighborhood. The Executive Director, Kokie Dinnan, says they believe that every child deserves a home. The organization works with local churches and synagogues that have temporary shelters, meals, and support centers.

‘Dine for Promise’ will raise funds through the purchase of tickets for scrumptious Asian fusion cuisine, as well as by donations from Union Restaurant and the city’s Waste Management department, who promise to ‘Match the Meal’. Awareness of the need for assistance for the area’s homeless families will be the main theme at the event. The message could be further promoted through such media as flyer printing, banner printing, and poster printing.

Tickets for the September 10 event can be purchased from the Union Restaurant in person, by phone, or through the website. Reservations should be made early as the event usually sells out quickly.
