Boynton and Delray Beach Holiday Boat Parade taking place December 9th
December 9, 2011 by Sarah
At 6:30 p.m. on December 9th 2011, the Annual Boynton/Delray Beach Holiday Boat Parade will be officially underway.
The flyer printing undoubtedly abounds leading up to this event to say nothing of the banner printing and posters that are also likely to be there. That being said, this year’s Holiday Boat Parade is going to have an extra spark involved with it since it’ll be the 40th time this event has been held.
As events like November’s Sunday Funday would suggest, the Boynton Harbor Marina is a great place to hold the Parade “pre-party”. Organizers have stated that this is an event for all ages and that the early fun and games will feature live musical performances, drinks, refreshments, and Santa Claus. According to the site, this part of the parade is going to be taking place at 5:30 p.m.
According to most advertisements, the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. with decorated boats going through the Boynton Inlet and continuing south via the C-15 Canal. With cash prizes at stake for 3 different categories, spectators can rest assured that the contestants will try to outdo one another. Besides the money and trophies however, participants are also eligible to win “restaurant gift certificates” through a draw.
For those who are interested in knowing, the 2011 Parade has been sponsored by a several businesses and organizations. The Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County are just two of the names mentioned.
In any case, Delray Beach residents are encouraged to be present for this historic event.
