Orange Blossom Festival set to bloom

It is almost time once again for the Orange Blossom Festival, parade and the Davie Pro Rodeo. The festival brings lots of visitors to the city to enjoy all of these events. Davie printing companies are likely to be called upon to provide advertising material to inform the public of this annual event.

This year, there is a new event in the Festival. The James Pirtle Memorial Golf Classic will take place at the Davie Golf and Country Club on February 22 beginning at 1:00 pm. Entry fees are $375 for a team of four or $100 for individuals. Fees will include prizes, trophies, lunch, and dinner. A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit the Davie Summer Youth Golf Program.

The Orange Blossom parade will take place on February 23 beginning at 10:00 am along Davie Road. The Orange Blossom Festival will take place from February 23 – 24 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. It will feature over 250 displays and exhibits set up along Orange Drive to Davie Road, while the road will be closed to traffic. The festival will feature arts and crafts, fine arts, a western town, live entertainment, an animal farm, a native American display, commerce corner, kids’ corner, and free concerts. In addition, the Strawberry Shortcake Festival at the Davie Woman’s Club will be serving strawberries and cake.

The Davie Pro Rodeo will take place from February 23 – 24 at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Admission is $18 for adults and $8 for those aged 3 – 12 in advance, or $20 for adults and $10 for children at the gate.
