Sawgrass Center helps educate about kindness to animals

The Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital holds a variety of events during the year to draw attention to the plight of often helpless animals, with one major example of this coming up in November.

Top Hat and Tails: a Black and White Gala is the main annual fundraiser for the Sawgrass Nature Center. Guests will be treated to cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and dessert. They can also bid on items in silent and live auctions. Money raised will go to help baby animals and to find homes for them.

The gala helps pay for some activities at the weekly Be Kind to Animals – All Critters Matter event which takes place at the Center every Sunday. An open house session, it features animal exhibits, provides information on how to be kind to animals, and allows guests to take a self-guided tour of the facility.

Coral Springs printing companies often help groups like the Center promote items in the community. This could be in the form of providing the event invitations or printed brochures about the work in which the organization engages.

The Top Hat and Tails Gala is being held at the Plaza Lago @ Heron Bay in Parkland on November 9 beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $85 or $75 for Sawgrass Nature Center members. Contact Dolly Molski at 954-752-9453 for more information.

Those interested in the Be Kind to Animals sessions should clear space in their diaries on Sundays, with proceedings getting underway at 11:00 am. For more information, call Rose Gualtieri at 954-752-9453.
