Outdoor festival to spring up in Coral Springs
February 11, 2013 by James
It is almost time once again for the Coral Springs Festival of the Arts. This popular annual festival features arts and crafts for sale, dance, music, and theatrical performances and literary workshops.
Among the events taking place is the Cake Challenge Contest for licensed bakers and culinary students. It costs $20 to enter and the grand prize is $100. This year’s theme is ‘Happy Birthday Coral Springs’.
The Signature Art Competition allows area artists to compete to have their art used in an official festival poster; they also receive $500 in prize money. There will be children’s activities such as face painting, games, puppet shows, drawing, and sing-alongs. The literary workshops will be held at the NW Regional Library and will feature such authors as Jamie Morris, Mike Mayo, Jeff Strand, and Laurieanne Macdonald, while there will also be a panel question-and-answer session with three of the authors. The festival sounds like it will have something to offer for everyone in the family.
Organizers of the festival will no doubt be working with Coral Springs print companies to prepare. They will likely be availing themselves of services like banner printing, sign printing, and poster printing to help inform the community of the upcoming festival. They might also want to send out advertising flyers through direct mail.
The 9th Coral Springs Festival of the Arts will take place at The Walk along University Drive from March 16 – 17. For more information, call 1-800-739-0516.
