Museum gives plenty to offer this summer

The Coral Springs Museum of Art is debuting its summer exhibitions next month, commencing an exciting few months for local art lovers.

‘Stewart Nachimas: Works on paper’ will be showing at the East Gallery, and features cast paper woodcuts. ‘Pablo Cana: Mixed media sculpture and drawing’ will be on display in the Main Gallery. Both exhibitions are set to take place from May 31 until August 31.

Earlier in the month, prior to the opening of these exhibitions, the museum is holding a fundraising event. ‘The Next Big Masterpiece: Chef’s Challenge’ will give guests a chance to sample some of the best food from local restaurants, have some drinks, enjoy live entertainment and participate in auctions. This ties in with the ‘artEpicurean’ exhibition which will be showing at the museum during the month of May; all of the works of art are available for purchase. Judges will award first, second, and third prizes during the evening and guests will get to vote on which foods of the night they liked best.

Exhibitions such as these often interest those in the Coral Springs area who work for graphic design, advertising, or printing companies. Seeing how paper can be used may inspire them in their next project.

The Chefs Challenge is taking place on May 1. To find out more about this and the upcoming exhibitions, call 954-340-5000.
