Coral Springs celebrates the season

December 7, 2016 by

Coral Springs Center for the Arts will present three performances of ‘The Nutcracker’ this month.

The traditional Christmas ballet will be danced by more than 130 cast members of the International Ballet Company.

Everyone here in Coral Springs is also invited to attend the city’s annual Downtown in December. Parking, admission and most activities will be free.

During the event, Starbucks will be handing out free hot cocoa in its well-known promotional drinkware, and Walmart will be distributing cookies. Apple cider and season-related activities will be supplied by Orchard Supply Hardware. Carolers will be singing traditional Christmas music as they meander throughout the venue amid live Holiday Jazz Music. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase too.

The Sarge Chanukah Chutzpah Tour comes to town in a couple of weeks. Comedian/entertainer Sarge and his band will be presenting his special form of zany comedy, memorable vocals, and piano virtuosity.

The ballet will be December 10 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and 2:00 pm on December 11 at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive. The Sarge Chanukah Chutzpah Tour will also be at the same venue on December 15 at 8:00 pm.

Downtown in December will be Saturday, December 10 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at the ArtWalk, 9405 NW 31st Court in Coral Springs.
