The 27th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is coming in mid-January. The Coral Springs Center for the Arts will start things off by hosting the Student Art and Literary Exhibits and Award Ceremony.

The following evening, Herman LeVern Jones’ Theater South Atlanta, Inc. will be presenting a musical/drama theatrical production called ‘I Have a Dream’. The performance will reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s life and words. A post-event reception will follow.
The final day of the celebration will be a Leadership/Diversity Day for middle and high school students. The morning and early afternoon event will have a keynote speaker who has yet to be announced.

The opening awards ceremony will be January 12 beginning at 5:00 pm at the Coral Springs Center for the Art at 2855 Coral Springs Drive. Scholarship winners will be announced and pictures taken of the recipients will make interesting inclusion in the town’s visitor’s guide brochures.

The ‘I Have a Dream’ production will be Friday, January 13 starting at 7:00 pm, also at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. The post-event reception will follow at 9:00 pm.

The program for the Middle School and High School students will be at the Coral Springs Charter School, 3205 N. University Drive. That program will be free but requires preregistration, which can be arranged through local schools.
